Tesla
MFM was very excited to see that Tesla planned to make their annual stop in the Sacramento area recently to wind up their current tour. We’d missed them the last couple times they swung through—this time we were going to be there.
four Year Strong
On Sunday night, Sacramento’s Ace of Spades music venue was overcome by a large crowd of supercharged twenty somethings looking to connect with the lineup of tonights set, and as expected, were immediately transformed by electrifying hub of power chords, high-octane drumming, and a face melting intensity of the music.
Dirty Honey
The crowd that gathered to gorge themselves on the high-energy rock that Dirty Honey serves up were treated to the perfect musical appetizer in The Band Feel, who brought all the garage band energy from St. Louis to Sacramento.
everclear
Everclear, the iconic 90s band that had a large contribution to the generation X soundtrack, made a tour stop at San Francisco’s iconic August Hall to play to another sold out crowd and Music Fan Magazine was lucky enough to be in the room.
Weezer
Weezer took a roaring crowd on an otherworldly adventure without ever leaving the Golden One stage in Sacramento last Tuesday on their “Voyage to the Blue Planet” tour for the 30th anniversary of their debut album.
Night Ranger
Night Ranger made a recent stop in Northern California to celebrate their 40-year lifespan as one of America’s premier rock band and to this fan’s delight they sounded perfect!
Lynch Mob
Attending the Lynch Mob show this past Friday night was a special event for this music fan. It was just a short time ago that I was introduced to George Lynch and his band Dokken at the 1988 Monsters of Rock Tour stop at Candlestick Park in San Francisco...along with 100,000 other fans.
pearl jam
Pearl Jam rocked a packed Golden One Center in Sacramento on May 13 with a set that was both fresh and familiar on the heels of their 12th studio album release, “Dark Matter.” The Jam is known for delivering a unique set at each stop of their tour, and with so many hit songs in the books it’s not a stretch to do!
red hot chili peppers
Music Fan Magazine was invited to attend the Red Hot Chili Peppers Nor Cal opener at Toyota Ampitheatre in Wheatland and for this long time Peppers fan it was a show that exceeded expectations and proved RHCP can still throw it down.
danko jones
Hard hitting Danko Jones and his band hail from Toronto Canada and recently stopped by Harlows Nightclub in Sacramento California, MFM was there to witness the trio tear up the stage!
Geoff tate
Music Fan Magazine had the chance to attend the Geoff Tate concert in Roseville, Ca., last night and can say without question...there is no difference between 1987 and now when listening to Geoff Tate belt out songs from the Queensryche collection. Further, there is no scientific way to explain how Geoff’s vocal range remains the same some 35 years later.
